OC WSC LIBEREC 2009 with the new and more effective appearance
(Liberec, September 20) Marek Rejman, Executive Director of the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships LIBEREC 2009 has introduced today the changes made in the Organizing Committee of the Championship. The new structure will help towards greater efficiency of the whole team and it should help resolve all the priority areas that the new team focuses on these days.
"Our main aim was to reflect more the requirements of the preparatory work and react to the current development of the situation. The objective of the new structure is to allot time to those activities which are of priority," Marek Rejman says. "The change has been a logical step aiming at simplifying and connecting mutually related activities. For example, until now there were three completely separate sections, that of promo, marketing and accompanying activities. However, they are all mutually intertwined and if one person is in charge of all these activities, the entire process will become not only more efficient but will also save financial resources," adds Rejman. The entire change also follows from a requirement of the new management, that is to create a small but efficient team of people who will take part in preparing the Championship together with other people. "We want to reduce the team of managers who have responsibility for rather partial tasks and, on the contrary, create a smaller managerial team which will manage all activities in a more interconnected way," says Marek Rejman. "Of course, these people will have their colleagues, but the whole process will be more faithful to the realities of preparing the Championship," Rejman sums it up.
Czech Ski Federation should also be drawn into preparing the Championship in a more significant way and closer cooperation will be established with FIS, the International Ski Federation. That is why in recent days meetings have taken place with top representatives of the Federation who came to Prague at Kateřina Neumannovás invitation. First on Thursday, it was Walter Hofer, Head of FIS Ski Jumping Section, then on Friday Jürg Capol, Head of FIS Cross-Country Section. "A lot of issues were agreed at these meetings, including cooperation in providing referees. FIS representatives were very glad about our offer for a closer cooperation and greater mutual sharing of information. At the same time we agreed to create a more efficient team of people made up of all the organizations and institutions involved who will communicate with one another and solve topical issues. Among them will representatives of FIS, Czech Ski Association, local authority of the City of Liberec and the Championship Organizing Committee," Rejman says. A week earlier a four-member delegation brought back support straight from the FIS Headquarters, from its President Gian Franco Kasper. He himself called upon the Organizing Committee to keep up the good work it had been doing for the Championship.
