It was the European Day one day before the end of the Championships

28. 02 2009 23:00:00

(Liberec, own) After theme days devoted to some of the participating countries (the Norwegian or the Czech Days are certainly worth mentioning), Saturday was in the spirit of the European Union. A stand appeared on Regional Plaza promoting the Czech EU Presidency.
Each of the passers-by could have a go in the “Euro-quiz”. When two smiling ladies addressed the people who were standing around, they would usually answer with some misgiving: “Well, better not, I don´t know anything about it.” Those who let themselves to get persuaded didn´t definitely regret it.
Those who answered the test correctly could chose from several nice gifts. There was a mug with the Czech Presidency logo, key rings, or wall-mounted or table calendars. And since the Regional Plaza was teeming with children the organizers prepared a quiz of the little ones too. Each child was given crayons, lollipops and balloons.
There were also available at the stand several publications about the European Union, and the Treaty of Lisbon to look at and a lot of promotional leaflets.
To conclude, I want to add a question from the dreaded test.
Who represents the Czech Republic in negotiations with other EU members_
  • Karel Gott;
  • Mirek Topolanek;
  • Ferda Mravenec (Jack of all trades).
You see it wasn´t that difficult to succeed in the test.
