New access staircase being built at Jested

22. 01 2009 15:10:00

(Liberec, own) As the Championship is approaching fast, preparations of the ski-jump grounds are being finalized. Facilities for athletes and their accompanying teams, referees and the press are ready; new high structures of spectator stands are in place which can hold as many as 12.5 thousand spectators. This week access staircase to the ski-jump grounds is being constructed.
The Organizing Committee has thought of safety and comfort of spectators and so new metal stairs are appearing on the F10 ski slope. The staircase is 8 metres wide and it is firmly anchored in the ground with poles reaching 70 cm underground; it starts a couple of metres from the lower station of the F10 ski slope lift. It was necessary to clear snow off the ski slope due to the construction of the staircase.
After the Championship the staircase will be dismantled and the ski slope will return to the sports grounds operator. At the foot of the staircase large-scale tents will be situated where refreshment and entertainment programme for spectators will be offered.
