Ještěd: The profile of the hills will not be changed
The hills have arisen on the north uphill of the Mount Ještěd in the 70 of the XX. Century and they have the unchangeable character of Miloslav Bělonožník, who was long year chairman of the FIS commission for the jumping hills. At present the complete rebuilding is going on in the area with the aim to finish the modern infrastructure.
The profiles of both hills HS 134 and HS 100 correspond with the actual demands and it is not necessary to change them. Only small adaptation will be made with the aim to ensure the absolute security of the runners, both hills will be provided by the substance to be able to use them all year long and it is taking into account with cooling of the outrun. Thanks that the hills will get the new certification in 2008.
Since January 2006 the organisational committee of the FIS NORDIC WSC 2009 is monitoring in the jumping zone the intensity of the wind, its direction, strength and the turbulences. The information are being noted each minute in the database, which will provide the perfect feature of the wind streaming in the month January – March of the period 2006 – 2009.
Parallel the construction of the dedans with the capacity of cca 10 000 spectators is under way. For the purpose of the WSC the capacity of the auditorium will be enlarged by the mobile dedans. The modern out-of-lines does not manage without the new access roads and artificial lighting. The jumps of the FIS NORDIC WSC will take parte mainly in the evening.
In the last years the area of Ještěd hosted several times the FIS races of the world cup in the ski jumps. In 2004 Janne Ahonen even evaluated the record of the hill, which is 139 m.
