Careful preparations of the Ski Jump Area Jested are still under way for the World Championships; clearing of snow is taking place and latest details are being finalized.  The first competitors´ training of the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships Liberec 2009 will begin at Jested on Monday, February 16.

Since 5 February the Accreditation Centre of the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships Liberec 2009 has been in operation. In fact, it is the point of entry for all important participants of the Championships.

Preparations for the Nordic World Ski Championships are reaching their peak. Film director Zora Cejnkova  has collected several hours of recordings from the preparatory stage of the Championships. The last reflections of the President of the Organizing Committee Katerina Neumannova before the start of the Championships were recorded by the documentary makers´ cameras in very harsh weather indeed. Katerina used the opportunity to check up on readiness of sports areas and the courses themselves too.

The Halls of residence of the Technical University will serve for athletes and their service teams only. During the Championships accredited journalists (the press) will be accommodated in new buildings in Zelene udoli  (Green Valley) in Krejčího ulice (Krejciho street) which the Statutory City of Liberec will hand over as social housing to needy citizens afterwards.

The Tipsport Arena in Liberec is to be transformed into the Championships Control Room during the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships. Ball games hall is to belong to the Press Centre, Ceska Sporitelna Club is to become the Accreditation Centre, and the space used during ice-hockey matches as press area is to become the main Control Room. Milan Trojek is the chief person behind this transformation of the Arena into a brain centre of the Championships.

Cross-country skiing venue Vesec has become a small town recently. Besides mobile stands for athletes main tribunes are on place too and the entire venue looks crowded nowadays. Spaces for journalists as well as press centre are ready and  TV booths and all offices necessary for newsmen and organizers are awaiting its first users.

Beautiful winter weather enabled interesting views from the venue jested towards the city of Liberec and further to the region. There are other mobile buildings necessary for the functioning FIS WSC Liberec 2009.

Jiří Magál won the Satruday\'s pursuit, Martin Koukal placed second and  Milan Šperl was third. We can wish that guys are in such a great shape during the World Ski Championship.

Kamila Rajdlová won women\' s race of 2 x 5 kilometers on Saturday.
